SWC 4.1.10
SpeakSpace Web Conferencing
What is happening?
Effective February 1, 2008, SWC application is being upgraded to release 4.1.10. This release contains new functionality that impacts the user interface look and feel. This release also expands the supported browsers. SpeakSpace Web Conferencing 4.1.10 supports the browsers; Mozilla FireFox 2.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. It also contains support for Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition.
We made significant changes to the user interface in SWC 4.1.10. In earlier versions of SWC, the client used three separate windows to display different aspects of the application, such as the workspace, the participant roster (with integrated audio controls), and the chat window. In earlier versions, each of these windows was a separate instance of the browser running on the Participant's or Moderator's desktop. In SWC 4.1.10, SpeakSpace has consolidated all of these separate windows into a single window view with separate sub-panels for the different content.
There are also new Java requirements. In SWC 4.1.10, regular Participants do not require Java to enter or join a web conference. It is important to note that Moderators still require Java to start a meeting as a Moderator. SWC uses Java to support the slide upload feature and other Moderator controls. You can find additional information about the new features of the SWC 4.1.10 application in the SpeakSpace Web Conferencing 4.1.10 User Guide.
